The Cavern Club, Liverpool, Nov 2006

Through Sim's performance at the Albert Hall with Ian Gillan, in March 2006 (more on the news page), we played at the Cavern Club, in Liverpool for the second time on Saturday November 11th 2006, raising money for the Linda McCartney Centre, looking after cancer sufferers. We had a great night and were really appreciated; many people coming up to compliment us. We were even approached by John Lennon's sister , Julia, a special guest for the evening. Julia met us straight after our set, backstage to tell us what a great and refreshingly different sound we had. See wmv video clips for The Web,  Run Red and One More Day. Note clips are from 9 to 12 Mb. See (4 page) feature in the local paper.

Pete Dicks who was at the gig played some Kindred Spirit music on his show on Forest FM 92.3 on Sun 26th Nov 2006. Find out more via his website

The acoustic duo line-up (Dave and Barry - the men on the right in the picture below) of Liverpool band "Daywalker", who also performed at the Cavern on November 11th, came down south for a tour and we were privileged to have them supporting us at two gigs on the 8th and 9th of December. You can find out more about them from their
main web site or their "MySpace" site

Gavin plays first gigs, June 2006
Gavin, who is sharing gigs with Sim, made an exciting guest appearance at the band's Barley Mow gig, in Shepperton (on 22nd July), playing "Johnny", while Sim played the "Devil" on "The Devil Went Down To Georgia".

Gavin did a really good job at his first full band gig at the Flower Pots on July 29th, though sadly the weather was rainy, and he is planning to invest in an electric violin and effects pedals fairly soon. You can find out more about Gavin's brilliant musical background in the biogs section.

This year Kindred Spirit played at quite a few wonderful, summer festival, outdoor concerts:-
Richmond May Fair,  Kingston Green Fair,   Coach and Horses BBQ, Silfest (at the Imperial College Campus in Ascot) and The Flower Pots at Alresford, Hampshire.
We had our last Summer Festival, featuring Gavin, Hugo, Joey and I, on Sunday September 24th at Chiswick Park's "Yellow Umbrella Day"

Dean Howard
and his band at the Beacon Court Tavern, in Gillingham on Friday 21st April. Dean and his agents became interested in Kindred Spirit because he also performed at the Albert Hall with Ian Gillan, where they met Sim. Dean also has Ian Gillan singing on one track of his latest album, called "Dean Howard - Volume One", which is an excellent album, and has an impressive track record of well known bands he has both played and toured with. Though a contrast to the heavier, Deep Purple style of Dean's band, we seemed to go down very well and received plenty of excellent comments about our set.

Sim plays the Albert Hall, March 2006

Ian Gillan from the legendary rock band Deep Purple  asked Sim if he would like to perform live with his band at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on March 31st.  It was billed as the "Tommy Vance Tribute Night" and was in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. As well as Ian Gillan and friends, the other bands featured were Judas Priest, The Scorpions and Boned. More Albert Hall pictures on the "Pictures" page and we'll be catching up with Sim to get his comments on his experience shortly.
