Paul
Paul first started learning drums so that he could join the school Dance Band, a small ensemble that played big band classics at school events and local functions, and soon found himself playing in other school music projects such as orchestra, brass band and musical productions. Through the 90s and noughties, Paul played in a number of amateur post-punk and rock bands, a highlight of which was playing at Portsmouth Guildhall in front of drummer Mark Brzezicki (Big Country). He has been drumming for covers band “The New Originals” (Spinal Tap aficionados will get the reference!) for well over a decade now, playing pubs, clubs and functions. Alongside playing drums, Paul’s other passion is recording. Ever since his first recording studio experience, he has been fascinated by the recording process. In the mid 2000’s, Paul helped a friend and fellow band member establish a project studio and ran full band sessions with him on weekends - a real baptism of fire, but an invaluable learning experience.
Austin
In 2016, Paul was able to fulfil a long held dream and built his own garden studio. He uses this to practice drums, record drum tracks for other people’s music projects and to work on his mixing skills. Paul also spends some of his spare time acting as a moderator for one the biggest online drum education platforms, “Drumeo”.
